Liu Joins Wynn Resorts Board

Paul Liu (l.) of the United States’ National Committee on U.S.-China Relations has joined the board of Wynn Resorts. The former banker was appointed on August 3.

Paul Liu, a one time banker and current member of the United States’ National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, has joined the board of Wynn Resorts Ltd., which controls Wynn Macau Ltd.

The company said Liu has “significant professional experience in entertainment, hospitality, and financial services both in China and the Asia Pacific region.

“His track record and perspective on creating guest experiences in the luxury and hospitality fields, as well as his unique understanding of business talent in the Asia Pacific market, will be a significant contribution to the company and will offer an important perspective to the Wynn board of directors.”
According to Asia Gaming Brief, Liu is a former partner at global business consultancy Egon Zehnder AG in Shanghai, where he focused on hotels and hospitality for multinational and Chinese clients. Before that, he was chief operating officer of Anschutz Entertainment Group China.

He has also worked for JP Morgan, UBS, Peregrine and Bank of America in New York and Hong Kong.

Wynn said Liu has an “active interest” in Sino-American relations, as reflected by his membership in the National Committee. He was appointed on August 3.
