Londoner Macao Almost Complete

In a sign of Macau’s ongoing economic recovery, the 370-suite Londoner Court at Sands China’s Londoner Macao will open gradually but be at 100 percent occupancy by Golden Week in October.

Londoner Macao Almost Complete

The 370-suite Londoner Court hotel, at Sands China’s new Londoner Macao in Cotai, is set to be fully open by October’s Golden Week celebration. According to the Macao News, the planned opening signals “further confidence in the tourism industry’s gradual recovery.”

Sands China President Wilfred Wong said the hotel will open in phases. “If patrons are coming in large numbers, we could launch it faster, if not, we could launch it at a slower pace.”

Based on the recovery so far and Sands’ business during May’s Golden Week, Wong said he expects “new heights” for occupancy rates at the company’s Macau hotels.

“By summer, we will be installing many more attractions so people can take photos and engage in interactive moments. This is in the pipeline,” said Wong. “Basically everyone is looking at the premium mass and the mass market. I would say there is a very good recovery in the premium mass sector.”

Wong told the Macau Daily Times he expects the Londoner to be complete by “December to January. The last to be completed will be the façade and the arena of about 6,000 seats. … but the other facilities will be completed before that,” he said.
