The donations were earmarked to fund flood relief efforts in the city of Zhengzhou and help its people rebuild. At least 71 people were killed in the flooding and more than 13 million people have been affected by the flooding since July 16, according to local news reports.

Dr. Lui Che-woo, Chairman of Galaxy Entertainment said: “Henan Province has been heavily hit by extremely heavy rainfall, with precipitation being most severe in its provincial capital Zhengzhou. As a Chinese, I feel that ‘blood is thicker than water’, and am deeply saddened by the casualties and property losses caused by the flood.”
