Asia Pioneer Entertainment, a Macau-based distributor of electronic gaming equipment, has recruited a group of university interns to help bring generative artificial intelligence (AI) to the casino floor.
According to Inside Asian Gaming, in a recent first-half earnings call, the company disclosed the research initiative.
“It is the team’s hope that we will be able to use generative AI to assist the group’s consulting business as well as explore new games development,” the company stated.
It added that it’s “started a program engaging a number of summer internship students from local universities to work on a three-month prototype building project for the group.”
The company, which introduced a smart vending machine subsidiary in 2021, has said it’s looking at alternative business segments to help diversify its revenue sources.
