Macau Greyhound Track in Limbo

There is no plan to date for the current greyhound track Macau Canidrome, which will close in July 2018. The government has suggested it may turn the facility into a cultural, leisure, sports and education facility.

There is no definitive use in place for a greyhound racing track in Macau after its license expires in July 2018. SJM Director Angela Leong On Kei told TDM Radio that despite a tender opened to look into uses for the property, the future of the venue is still uncertain, reported the Asia Gaming Brief.

Paulo Martins Chan, director of the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, previously indicated the government could redevelop the property as a cultural, leisure, sports and education facility.
