Also plans a bank
Macau Legend Development Ltd. will break ground on its MOP2.34 billion (US$290 million) casino resort in the African nation of Cape Verde in August. The announcement was made by Macau Legend Chairman and Chief Executive David Chow Kam Fai last week at the company’s annual general meeting at Legend Palace.
Phase I of construction, scheduled to be complete by 2019, will include a 200-room beachfront hotel and casino complex plus an office zone, reported the Macau News Agency.
The company also has applied to establish a bank at Cape Verde, to be named Banco Sino-Atlântico. “We have submitted a delegation personally to the Cape Verde government,” Chow said. “They need time to check whether I am a criminal or not.”
The bank aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises, and to facilitate local and international payments, reported MNA.
