Macau on the Hunt for Lawbreakers

In keeping with Chinese President Xi Jinping’s new crackdown on corruption and money laundering in the world’s premier gaming destination, Macau’s Secretary for Security Wong Sio Chak says territorial police will enhance surveillance at casinos and hotels.

Law enforcement in Macau is working harder to detect violations of Chinese anti-corruption laws at the gaming enclave’s casinos and hotels.

According to GGRAsia, Macau’s Secretary for Security Wong Sio Chak says the territory’s police will work with casino and hotel executives to beef up surveillance at gaming halls.

“We will strengthen communication with senior executives in casinos and hotels,” Wong said, adding that the police will conduct more rigorous surveillance at casino properties across the city.

In a statement issued last week by the Macau government, Wong said senior officials of the Public Security Forces will get more equipment and manpower to enable them to “optimize their performance in maintaining a secure society.”
