The world’s leading gaming destination could see a double-digit rise in gross gaming revenues for 2018, according to Bloomberg News.

A group of analysts surveyed by the news outlet predicted an average 14 percent increase in GGR for the year, though they warn that another crackdown by the Beijing government could thwart those expectations.

VIP gamers are expected to lead the way. But leisure tourists are also likely to come check out Macau’s newest attractions on the Cotai Strip. Coming additions include MGM Cotai, which is set to open in January, and SJM Holdings’ Grand Lisboa Palace, which may not open until 2019. Visitors to the city will increase 7 percent next year, Deutsche Bank AG estimates.

As the last two integrated resorts to open in Cotai, MGM and SJM are “likely to face stiff competition,” said Daiwa analyst Jamie Soo. He says both will lag behind Sands China and Galaxy Entertainment Group in overall market share.
