Macau Visitation Jumped in March

Visitation continues to climb in Macau, which reopened its borders in January. For March, arrivals increased 271.4 percent year-on-year and 22.8 percent over February.

Macau saw impressive gains in incoming travel and tourism for the month of March. According to the city’s Statistics and Census Service, visitor arrivals to the Chinese gaming mecca rose 271.4 percent year-on-year and 22.8 percent over the same period in February.

GGRAsia reported that 1.96 million people visited Macau during the month, split between overnight visitors and day trippers. The number of visitors from Mainland China, Macau’s top feeder market, grew 164.9 percent year-on-year to 1.24 million, comprising 63.5 percent of the total.
