Mainland China Lottery Sales Up

Lottery sales in Mainland China increased 9.6 percent year-on-year for the month of April, according to the country’s Ministry of Finance. Total sales for the month reached RMB38.24 billion (US$5.5 billion).

Sales up in 25 of 31 regions

Lottery sales in Mainland China continue their upward trajectory, according to data from the country’s Ministry of Finance.

Welfare lottery sales were up 4.3 percent year-on-year to RMB18.72 billion, while sports lottery sales spiked 15.2 percent to RMB19.52 billion, reported GGRAsia.

From January through April total sales were up 6.2 percent year-on-year to approximately RMB133.49 billion. Last month, sales were up in 25 of the 31 provinces and municipalities of Mainland China that sell lottery tickets.

Guangdong Province leads the pack with an increase of 8.6 percent year-on-year in April. Shandong Province in eastern China saw an increase of 7.1 percent year-on-year. Jiangsu Province came in third, up 4.3 percent from the prior-year period, according to official data.
