Six of the biggest U.S. gambling affiliate groups have come together to form the Responsible Gambling Affiliate Association (RGAA). This strategic alliance aims to elevate advertising standards and promote responsible gambling practices in the industry.
The participating affiliates include: Better Collective, Catena Media, Gambling.com Group, Oddschecker, Spotlight Sports Group and XL Media.
The formation of the RGAA highlights the affiliates’ commitment to promoting gambling as a form of entertainment while ensuring the well-being of consumers. By joining forces, these major players in the industry aim to create a unified approach to advertising and establish guidelines that prioritize consumer protection, empowerment, and choice.
Mark Frank Pederson, CEO of Better Collective North America, emphasized the importance of this collaboration.
“Having the industry come together with a unified approach to creating standards and guidelines puts the best interests of our consumers, customers, and their families at the forefront,” Pederson said.
The RGAA has identified five core pillars on which it will focus its efforts:
Promotion of competitive gambling markets: The association aims to foster healthy competition in the gambling industry while ensuring fair practices and responsible gambling.
The RGAA recognizes the importance of educating both affiliates and consumers about responsible gambling practices. By providing accurate information and resources, they aim to raise awareness and promote informed decision-making.
The association is committed to safeguarding consumers’ interests and ensuring they have access to responsible gambling options. They advocate for measures that empower individuals to make informed choices about their gambling habits.
The RGAA aims to establish clear guidelines for advertising practices in the industry. By adhering to these codes of conduct, affiliates can ensure responsible and ethical advertising that protects vulnerable individuals.
Responsible business practices: The association encourages its members to adopt responsible business practices that prioritize consumer well-being. This includes implementing measures to prevent underage gambling and providing support for individuals experiencing gambling-related harm.
Affiliate companies play a crucial role in helping regulated online gambling operators achieve their growth targets.
Charles Gillespie, CEO of Gambling.com Group, emphasized the significance of affiliates in promoting responsible gambling.
“Gambling.com Group is proud to be part of the new Responsible Gambling Affiliate Association to ensure that standards remain high among our peers and that the voice and message of the affiliate marketing community are heard loud and clear,” Gillespie said.
The RGAA is actively recruiting a full-time president to spearhead its initiatives and lead the association. With the combined expertise and resources of these major affiliates, the RGAA is poised to make a significant impact in promoting responsible gambling practices throughout the industry.
