Make Casinos Great Again

Las Vegas has always been one to adapt with the times, so why not play into current events in Washington? Ira David Sternberg (l.) explores everything from DOGE to the Panama Canal.

Make Casinos Great Again

Like politicians, businesspeople and industry titans, America seems to be going in a new direction.  Casinos are businesses too, so they can follow suit by creating or renaming their properties to match the times.

There’s plenty of creativity in Las Vegas, but here are a few suggestions to get those juices flowing.

Musk Tower: There is already a Trump Tower here, so why not have one for Elon Musk? And naturally, the Las Vegas Loop will connect to the property. As an added bonus, if the Wi-Fi goes out, Starlink springs into action.

Panama Canal Hotel and Casino: We already have the Venetian, which propels guests through the Grand Canal Shoppes. The Panama can offer a larger experience with ships instead of gondolas and American sailors instead of gondoliers.

The Fracking Casino: Not only offering games of chance, but a free oil change while you wait.

DOGE Inn: Guests receive service from a trimmed down, but efficient staff. Amenities are also trimmed down, so do your own turndown and bring your own chocolate for the pillow.

Facebook Hotel: Stay at Zuckerberg’s new resort, offering rooms without fact checkers. Added bonus: No one questions your name, your posts or your preferred pronouns.

The Village People Resort: Not only are “YMCA” and “In The Navy” playing on a continuous loop throughout the resort, but you can also enjoy the colorful characters as you wander the property. Dance along with the Cop, the Cowboy and the rest of the group…and even buy matching costumes at the gift shop.

The American Golden Age Hotel and Casino: A Trump-themed property with a border wall separating the hotel from the casino and featuring, at the entrance, a mural of Mount McKinley. And flowing around the property – a replica of the Gulf of America.

While these suggestions may elicit praise (or derision), it still shows that Las Vegas can adapt to the times and be creative with branding.

And if I’m totally wrong, pardon me.
