Malta Mulls Innovative Technology Arrangements, VFA policy

The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) is consulting with gaming industry stakeholders as it strives to formulate a policy for the use of Innovative Technology Arrangements (ITAs) and acceptance of virtual tokens and virtual financial assets (VFAs.)

The consultation will continue until December 14, with the MGA inviting input on its proposed new rules and regulations. The consultation will also include a series of regulatory workshops designed to encourage “an informal exchange of views around regulatory topics” and more regular contact between industry members and the MGA.

The first of such workshops will begin in December and focus on the ITAs et al mentioned above. All interested stakeholders will be invited to take part, said the MGA.

Last month the MGA committed to introducing “detailed player protection guidelines for licensees,” and in September it held a closed consultation that spelled out licensees’ responsibilities for responsible gaming policies.
