Gaming floors in Manila’s Entertainment City casino zone will remain closed for now due to stricter Covid-19 safety precautions, though some amenities including hotels will remain open.
According to Philippine Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez, the whole capital region would remain under Alert Level 4, the second-strictest phase, at least until October 15.
Under Level 4, casinos, lottery and betting shops and other gaming venues must stay closed, except if given the green light either by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases or the Office of the President, Rodrigo Duterte, according to the Inter-Agency Task Force guidelines.
Under Level 3, casinos can operate at 30 percent of capacity; at Level 2, up to 50 percent capacity is permitted. At Alert Level 1, casinos may operate at full capacity, according to GGRAsia.
Instead of large-scale lockdowns, the system expects to impose more “granular lockdown measures” on certain areas such as either neighborhoods, streets or subdivisions identified as high risk for Covid-19.
