Metro Manila in the Philippines will remain under Covid Alert Level 3 until the end of January, with casinos permitted to operate under limited capacities to vaccinated customers.
According to Asia Gaming Brief, nongaming amenities are also limited to 40 percent indoor and 60 percent indoor capacity.
The region has seen an increasing number of Covid-19 infections, which necessitated the measure. But the “healthcare utilization rate” in Metro Manila has not risen to 71 percent, which would trigger a Level 4 alert.
Under Alert Level 3, activities considered high-risk for transmission are technically not allowed, among them “casinos, horse racing, cockfighting and operation of cockpits, lottery and betting shops, and other gaming establishments.”
