Australian casino operator Crown Resorts Ltd announced Company Secretary and General Counsel Michael Neilson recently stepped down from his position as company secretary. Neilson will remain with the Crown Group for a transitional period, according to a statement.
Mary Manos will continue to act as company secretary and also will become general counsel.
Neilson had been with Crown Resorts since December 2007. Previously he was general counsel for Crown Melbourne Ltd, part of the Crown group. Neilson played a key role in Crown Resorts’ sale of its stake in Asian casino developer Melco Resorts and Entertainment Ltd, operator of casinos in Macau and the Philippines.
Crown Resorts Chairman John Alexander said, “On behalf of the Crown board, I would like to thank Michael for 13 years of dedicated service to the company. During that time, Michael played a key role in managing the legal, compliance and regulatory functions across the Crown group and in a number of jurisdictions.”
Crown Resorts also announced Ben Brazil, who has retired, has been replaced by Helen Coonan as chair of the firm’s audit and corporate governance committee. Coonan, a former Senator, has served as the Australian government cabinet minister for communications, and minister for revenue and assistant treasurer.
