A concert by 1970s rockers Orleans and Gary Wright honored the occasion, plus special promotions and entertainment, showgirls, strolling bands, stilt walkers and even psychics. Mardi Gras generates about $4 million in monthly slot revenues, ahead of Gulfstream Park but behind Isle Casino and Racing.

Mardi Gras Casino in Hallandale Beach, Florida recently celebrated its 10th anniversary with a concert by the 1970s rock group Orleans and Gary “Dream Weaver” Wright, along with a “Diamonds in the Sky Blinko” promotion, live entertainment, showgirls, strolling bands, psychics, stilt walkers and more.

On average, Mardi Gras generates around $4 million a month in slot revenues; that’s slightly ahead of Gulfstream Park, also in Hallandale Beach, but far behind the Isle Casino and Racing in Pompano Beach and the four racinos in Miami-Dade. The Seminole casinos do not have to post their earnings, but observers said don’t have to reveal revenue figures, but experts said they lead the state’s casino industry by far.

Mardi Gras President Dan Adkins said, “Given the conditions, I am happy with the numbers. I’d love to see all the casinos do better, but we can’t do that when we’re beating each other’s brains in.”

Adkins added he hopes the state will approve decoupling, so the venue can end dog racing in order to offer other forms of gambling. He also would like to move Mardi Gras to west Broward, near Sawgrass Mills Mall.
