Margaritaville 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar Opens in Oklahoma

Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville casino complex won't fully be open until late 2016, but its famous 5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar recently debuted at the RiverSpirit Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma, owned by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. The two casinos will operate under one roof.

The 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar recently opened at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville casino complex, currently under construction at RiverSpirit Casino on the Arkansas River in Tulsa, Oklahoma. RiverSpirit Chief Executive Officer Pat Crofts explained, “It’s really two casinos under one roof. When people feel like they need to go to a new casino they walk through a portal and the casino will be completely themed like this with the palm trees and the tropical theme.” Added Chief George Tiger of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, “Gaming is so big here in Indian country and across Oklahoma. We were outgrowing the facility we already have.”

The casino and restaurants are expected to open in September 2016, followed by the 27-story luxury hotel tower by the end of 2016. When the entire complex is operating, annual economic impact is estimated to be $135 million.

“This is great. We have been working on this for a long time and it is finally coming around, and it’s fun to be here,” Crofts said.
