Australian betting giant Tabcorp has announced the appointment of Mark Howell as the company’s new chief financial officer.
Howell is expected to take over for Damien Johnson in the coming months, who had been filling the CFO role on an interim basis after Daniel Renshaw resigned in August, citing personal reasons.
Prior to joining Tabcorp, Howell spent six years in various senior financial positions for supermarket chain Coles Group. Prior to that, Howell spent time with a number of banks and firms, including Ernst and Young, Rothschild and Goldman Sachs.
“Mark is the perfect fit for Tabcorp as we deliver our transformation,” Tabcorp Managing Director and CEO Adam Rytenskild said in a statement. “He’s passionate about our growth story and dynamic in his thinking.
“Wagering is one of the most competitive industries in Australia and Mark comes from an equally competitive customer focused industry. His experience leading finance teams at Coles and working closely with investors will be invaluable moving forward.”
