Maverick Gaming Names Granite CFO

Maverick Gaming has named 20-year gaming industry and investment banking veteran Thomas Granite as the operator’ new chief financial officer.

Nevada casino operator Maverick Gaming has named Thomas Granite the company’s new chief financial officer

Granite brings more than 20 years of gaming industry and investment banking experience to Maverick, which owns the Wendover Nugget and Red Garter Hotel in Wendover and was approved by Nevada gaming regulators this month to acquire the Red Lion Hotel & Casino, Gold Country Inn and High Desert Inn in Elko.

Maverick is in the process of acquiring nine casinos in the state of Washington, seven of which are located in the Seattle area.

Granite most recently served as managing director at Jefferies in its real estate, gaming and lodging investment banking group.

“We are counting on Tom to bring his proven financial expertise and extensive industry relationships to the CFO position,” said Maverick Gaming CEO Eric Persson. “His background at Jefferies will undoubtedly assist Maverick as we continue to transform into a best-in-class regional operator.”
