Mayfair Casino Ltd has acquired Clermont Leisure (UK) Ltd, formerly known as the Clermont Club.
The club has been closed since March 2018 and will be refurbished and re-launched in early 2020
The Clermont will be Mayfair’s second property in London following last year’s acquisition of Napoleons Casino on Leicester Square, which re-opened as Horizons Casino in July.
“We’re very happy to have added such a well-respected and historical brand to our portfolio and will now focus on a smooth transition period before we begin on rebranding and refurbishing the property. It’s a very exciting time for Mayfair Casino Ltd,” the company said in a press release.
According to reports, the building is the only surviving townhouse designed by William Kent, built between 1742 and 1745. Since 1950, the address has been a private member’s club and casino.
