Joseph McKeehen, 24, won the World Series of Poker Main Event on November 10, taking home .68 million. McKeehen beat Joshua Beckley, 25, on the 13th hand, but Beckley still took home $4.47 million for taking second in the tournament. He bested Beckley with a pair of Fours and a pair of Tens to Beckley’s Ace-10 pocket combination. McKeehen said the win wrapped up what mostly was a smooth run to the title.

“Just the way the cards came out, it didn’t seem like I had too many tough decisions, and I think when I did I generally made the right one,” he told the Las Vegas Review Journal. “It was definitely easier than facing adversity and battling, that’s for sure.”

The World Series was the event’s 46th and requires a $10,000 buy-in from players who earned seats at the event by winning prior qualifying tournaments.

Some 6,420 poker players from around the globe participated in the event, which gave $60,348,000 in cash prizes to the top 1,000 finishers.

The poker tournament was held in the Penn & Teller Theater inside the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino.
