On February 25, Melco Cyprus staged a hiring event at its career center in Limassol, Cyprus. A unit of Melco Resorts & Entertainment, it hopes to hire 1,800 new staff members for its newest resort, City of Dreams Mediterranean.
“Melco values our people as the company’s most important asset,” said Melco Cyprus Vice President of Human Resources Emilios Rotsides. “Therefore, in alignment with our global recruitment philosophy to ‘hire on attitude, image and potential and train on skills,’ emphasis is placed on providing specialized training programs and opportunities for career development for our colleagues.”
Melco announced early last year that it expects to open its €550 million (US$624 million) integrated resort development in the summer of 2022. Set to be Europe’s largest integrated resort, City of Dreams Mediterranean will feature a 16-story, five-star hotel with more than 500 luxury guest rooms and suites, 10,000 square meters (108,000 square feet) of MICE space, an outdoor amphitheater, a family adventure park and a variety of fine-dining and luxury retail outlets. It will also offer a 7,500-square meter casino with 100 gaming tables and 1,000 slot machines.
The company currently operates three satellite casinos and a temporary facility in Limassol, in the Greek-controlled part of Cyprus.
On the opening of City of Dreams Mediterranean, the company will continue to operate the satellite casinos while operation of the temporary casino will cease.
