Hong Kong-listed casino operator Melco Resorts & Entertainment Ltd. has appointed Francesca Galante as an independent non-executive director with seats on its compensation committee and on its nominating and corporate governance committee.
Melco said Galante has 20 years of experience in real estate investment and consulting in Europe and North America, and has bought and sold offices, hotels, housing and industrial property. Galante is a co-founder of First Growth Real Estate and has been a partner in the European-based firm since 2010.
Before that, she was an executive director in the real estate principal finance division of UBS Investment Bank in London and has also worked for Soros Real Estate Partners and Merrill Lynch, reported GGRAsia.
Melco Resorts Chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho said Galante “brings a wealth of experience and will also provide a fresh and unique perspective to Melco’s board.
“Reflecting our continued commitment to best corporate governance practices, with Francesca’s appointment, Melco’s board now comprises of a majority of independent directors,” Ho said.
