Melco No. 1 for Michelin-Starred Restaurants

On December 17, Melco Resorts & Entertainment was honored as the recipient of 10 Michelin stars among six signature restaurants at its properties in Macau. Melco was recognized as the integrated resort operator with the most Michelin stars in the Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau 2020.

Lawrence Ho, Melco chairman and CEO, said, “This is an incredible achievement and I want to thank Michelin for presenting us with this honor. Melco has the most remarkable culinary team, and I am delighted they have again been recognized for their commitment, hard work and creativity.

“The team’s passion for innovation and determination to deliver the most exquisite dining experiences to our guests sets Melco apart, enabling Melco to continue contributing to Macau’s status as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.”

The Michelin Guide awards ceremony took place at City of Dreams in Macau.

Melco’s Michelin-starred restaurants include Jade Dragon, the Tasting Room, Alain Ducasse at Morpheus, Shinji by Kanesaka, Pearl Dragon and Ying.

Sichuan Moon, a Chinese-cuisine restaurant at Macau casino resort Wynn Palace, earned two Michelin stars in the 2020 guide. And Wing Lei, an eatery at Wynn Macau, jumped from one star to two stars in the latest edition.

Robuchon au Dôme, a contemporary French restaurant at SJM Holdings Ltd.’s Grand Lisboa Hotel on the peninsula, retained its three-star accolade in the 2020 Michelin list. The Eight, a Chinese restaurant also at the Grand Lisboa, was also able to retain its three-star rating.

Macau and Hong Kong “have their very own identity, but are quite similar when it comes to the quantity of good food served,” said Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guides, who presented the awards. He explained that Macau is an example of where the “gastronomic experience is perfectly balanced between tradition and modernity.”
