The Latin American gaming companies Enjoy and Dreams have announced a merger. The merger is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter.
It will result in a casino company that controls 58 percent of Chile’s gaming industry. Dreams shareholders will control 64 percent of shares with Enjoy’s shareholders controlling the rest.
Once the merger is complete, the companies will add other businesses, expanding into e-Games.
Enjoy Board President Henry Comber, said the goal was to consolidate “the leadership of a Chilean company in the Latin American casino industry.” He added, “These businesses will benefit from a greater scale and geographic diversification, which will undoubtedly allow us to deliver a better offer for our clients.”
Claudio Fischer, president of Dreams’ board, added, “The new company will combine all the experience of both groups and will provide a financial strength that will allow the business to face the new challenges that the effects of the pandemic and the development of new technologies have imposed on the Latin American gaming and entertainment industries.”
Besides casinos in Chile, the new company will operate 12 casinos in Argentina, Columbia, Panama, Peru and Uruguay.
The merger still requires the OK of local regulators.
