Merkur Argentina, S.A. announced the appointment of industry veteran Alejandro Saraintaris as the company’s general manager.
Saraintaris has more than 16 years of experience in Argentinean gaming and beyond, having worked extensively in both sales and management roles during that period. A graduate in industrial engineering from the Universidad Argentina de la Impresa, Saraintaris has a strong technical background combined with a wealth of commercial acumen. His stated goal on joining Merkur Gaming is “to take advantage of my wide work experience in a project that represents both a challenge and a huge opportunity for the future.”
Saraintaris will take advantage of this week’s SAGSE exhibition in Buenos Aires to meet with customers and business partners and to continue the process of building the Merkur Gaming Argentina team that will be in place by the end of 2016.
“The opportunity that I have been given in bringing Merkur Gaming Argentina to become a key player in the market fills me with enthusiasm and excitement,” Saraintaris said. “The reputation of the Merkur brand across Latin America is exceptionally strong, and it is my clear intention to now make Merkur Gaming Argentina a key player in this important market. With the right team in place and with the full support of the Gauselmann Group and the huge resources that they possess, I am totally confident of success.”
“With the appointment of Alejandro Saraintaris, I am certain that we have found exactly the right person to lead development in Argentina,” said Charles Hiten, CEO of Merkur Gaming Americas. “This is an expansion in our business that has frequently been requested by operators in Argentina, and my message to those operators is: ‘you asked, we responded,’ and we look forward to seeing Merkur Gaming taking its place on gaming floors across the country.
“Argentina is a major gaming territory in Latin America, and now is exactly the right time for us to bring the Merkur brand, backed by the high manufacturing standards and exceptional innovation of the whole Gauselmann Group, onto the Argentinean landscape. Finding the right industry professional to lead this new venture has been the key to our strategy from the outset, and I am delighted that Alejandro Saraintaris has agreed to take on the task of unlocking the many opportunities that undoubtedly are ahead.”
