Merkur Casino UK is to expand its land-based reach into Northern Ireland after completing the acquisition of Oasis Retail Services.
Oasis is one of the leading gaming and amusement machine operators in the country. It runs 16 venues and several hundred machines across Northern Ireland.
With the purchase, Merkur Casino will have a retail presence in Northern Ireland for the first time. This will build on its existing operations across the rest of the U.K.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mark Schertle, chief operating officer of Merkur Casino UK, said he was “delighted” to have completed the deal. He said Oasis will now be integrated into the wider Merkur family.
“Oasis is a business built on strong values, quality and a long-term commitment to its customers and employees,” Schertle said.
The Northern Ireland deal follows the recent acquisition of The Casino MK in Milton Keynes, England. Plans are in place to reopen the revamped venue in the coming months.
Merkur already operates more than 220 gaming centers in areas across Great Britain. On top of this, the group also employs in excess of 15,000 people across its operations in regions around the world.
