Merkur on Tour with ‘Tech Treffen’

Merkur Gaming has taken its Tech Treffen conference on tour in Latin America beyond its original location in what the company calls “Tech Treffen Tour 2016.”

Merkur Gaming has expanded its Tech Treffen technical conference and seminar beyond its original Peru location in what the company has dubbed the “Tech Treffen Tour 2016.”

In 2013, Merkur Gaming Peru’s technical manager, Luis Asmat, devised and produced Tech Treffen as a means of communicating more effectively with a vital segment of casino operators’ workforce. The concept has proved so worthwhile that this year it was extended beyond Peru to include Mexico and Colombia, becoming known collectively as Tech Treffen Tour 2016.

Taking in Mexico City, Lima and Bogota and using the same format and agenda. the tour had Merkur Gaming Product Manager Hartmut Sanger as the keynote speaker at all three venues, and covered a broad range of topics from product range to initial installation through to in-operation technical requirements.

With an average attendance of 50 senior technicians at each venue. the Tech Treffen (Tech being self explanatory and Treffen meaning “meeting” in German) had simultaneous Spanish/English translation and was universally agreed by the attendees to be an extremely useful event—not just the providing of key information but also with ample time for the delegates to mix with industry colleagues and to participate in a valuable question and answer session.

“Taking Tech Treffen on Tour and thus being able to capitalize on the experiences gained over the past three years in Peru has proved to be a fantastic success,” said Tomas Mieles, sales director for Merkur Gaming Americas. “Each country, of course, has its own technical requirements, and our local experts addressed these in detail within the framework of an already proven overall agenda.

“In Mexico, for example, we believe that this was the first such event ever presented in that country, and its value was clearly seen. Our tour will certainly be on the road again in 2017 and, with Merkur Gaming being active in Argentina, we can already see that it will be extended to cover all four of the key countries in Latin American gaming operations.

“I would particularly like to thank all of our staff involved in the preparation and running of our Tour 2016, and also congratulate the delegates that made the three events come alive through their participation and lively interactions during the sessions.”
