Merkur gaming, the slot supply subsidiary of Germany’s Gauselmann Group, issued a statement at last week’s ICE Totally Gaming trade show that outlines the successes the company achieved during 2017.
“All signs at Merkur Gaming are firmly pointing towards growth,” the statement said. “Last year, Athanasios ‘Sakis’ Isaakidis and his team succeeded in further strengthening the company’s position in a number of markets and also in tapping important new sales markets. Internationally, Merkur Gaming expanded its presence in major casino markets and was above all able to further consolidate its market position in Europe.”
Merkur celebrated a successful market entry in Greece

The company outlined a similar success story in Bulgaria. “Following the successful market launch in 2016, our market performance in 2017 allowed us to significantly expand our position,” said Wessler, who noted that the company’s stand at the Balkan Entertainment & Gaming Expo (BEGE) in Sofia more than doubled in size. Apart from the latest HD games systems, Merkur Gaming’s biggest success in Eastern Europe were the Avantgarde Trio and the Avantgarde. Both cabinets are characterized by their modern design, distinctive lighting effects and high-resolution HD technology.
“We are proud of the achievements we have recorded during the past twelve months in Bulgaria, and we will continue to develop products that meet players’ expectations. Our game designers and sales team are aiming to build on this 2017 success in Bulgaria,” said Isaakidis.
In 2017, Merkur Gaming and its sales team carried out a rollout product campaign that covered all the largest operators in the German Spielbanken sector. Multigames developed by Merkur Gaming and tailor-made jackpot solutions for German Spielbanken have redefined performance expectations.
