Former Las Vegas Sands executive Tim Merrill has been appointed to head Maverick Gaming’s Washington state operations as president.
The position was created by Maverick’s pending purchase of Nevada Gold and Great American Gaming assets.
At Sands China Limited, Merrill was senior vice president of slot operations for the Venetian, the Parisian, Sands Macao, Four Seasons Macao, Himalaya and Pacifica/Sands Cotai Central.
Maverick Gaming owner and founder Eric Persson declared, “Mr. Merrill is the leader Maverick Gaming needs to integrate the multiple Washington properties we are currently purchasing and to transition this business into the regional entertainment opportunity we envision.” He added, “Over the next few months, we intend to announce further acquisitions in Washington that will demonstrate our commitment to this market.”
