Metric Gaming, the sports betting technology, software and services specialist, has strengthened its London-based team through the appointment of a new COO, CFO and trading director.
The addition of the three new executives, who are to be based in Metric’s new London offices, will assist the company’s transformation into a full-fledged sports book supplier.
Former Betfair and William Hill director Jim Supple, who has more than 25 years of experience in the betting industry, is to become chief operating officer. Metric’s incoming chief financial officer, Steven Paterson, was previously finance director of William Hill’s retail division.
Former Coral trading chief Sam Foulkes has become the new trading director at the company, which also has offices in Las Vegas.
“This is an exciting time to be joining Metric, and the opening of the London office signifies the company’s expanding ambitions,” Supple said. “I was drawn to Metric for its unique technology and talented personnel, and very much look forward to working with new additions Steven and Sam, whose experience will be key to the company’s future success.”
The opening of the London headquarters and appointment of the three new executives come as Metric continues its development from being a pure provider of in-play systems—such as its market-leading SuperLive product—to the supplier of a complete sports book service. Earlier this year it was announced that gaming operator Gamesys had chosen Metric as its technology provider, while the company has been short-listed in the Best Innovation in Sports Betting and Best Innovation in Live Betting categories at the upcoming SBC Awards.
“The appointment of these three executives, and the opening of the London office, herald a watershed moment for Metric,” said Martin de Knijff, Metric’s founder. “We believe the experience, expertise and operational excellence that Jim, Steve and Sam bring will help take Metric to the next level.”
