MGE Cuts Share in Greek Venture

Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment has cut its 65 percent share as the leading investor in the consortium that is developing the integrated casino complex at Elliniko, Greece.

Remaining in the project is GEK Terna, which controls 35 percent, and the government is seeking others to possibly fill some of the void that will be created by MGE’s retrenching. MGE’s decision followed the rejection of its demands for modification of the contracts and the state turned down the company’s requests for adjustments to the proposal.

MGE beat out Hard Rock International, which complained that the process was tilted in favor of Mohegan from the start.
