Comps for first guests

On November 21, MGM Cotai began taking reservations for the resort’s January 29 grand opening.

Offers start at MOP 1,398 (US$174) per night. That promotion also includes MOP 500 (US$62) complimentary credits that can be redeemed in restaurants, spa and entertainment facilities of their choice as well as ferry transportation, according to MGM China Holdings Ltd.

“As MGM Cotai will be the most anticipated resort opening of 2018, we are pleased to launch opening offers with great value for all of our guests, inviting them to stay with us and experience our one-of-a-kind offerings first-hand. We look forward to welcoming our loyal customers and new guests to MGM Cotai, the most innovative integrated resort in Macau, on January 29,” said Grant Bowie, CEO and executive director of MGM China Holdings Ltd.

The US$3.2 billion integrated resort was originally scheduled to open in early 2017 but was delayed several times, most recently by Typhoon Hato, which hit Macau in August with winds exceeding 120 miles per hour.

The resort will be open in time for Chinese New Year, which begins February 18.
