MGM Exec Makes Successful Meetings’ List

Michael Dominguez, senior vice president and chief sales officer at MGM Resorts International, has been named to Successful Meetings' list of the "25 Most Influential People in the Meetings Industry for 2015." Dominguez oversees sales strategies for the convention, leisure and transient segments for MGM Resorts International.

MGM Resorts International Senior Vice President and Chief Sales Officer Michael Dominguez recently was named to Successful Meetings’ list of the “25 Most Influential People in the Meetings Industry for 2015.” The annual listing by the trade publication for meeting, convention, incentive and trade show professionals recognizes events and meetings professionals who have helped raise awareness of the industry, or made a significant impact on the industry.

Dominguez provides executive oversight for company sales strategies for the convention, leisure and transient segments for MGM Resorts International, also including industry relations, regional sales and MGM Resorts Event Productions. He leads a staff of 300 employees and oversees the hosting of more than 6,000 groups annually.

Dominguez serves as immediate past chairman of Meeting Professionals International, the world’s largest meetings organization. He also has served on the executive committee of the U.S. Travel Association and on the foundation board of directors for the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International. Recently Dominguez was named co-chair of the Meetings Mean Business Coalition, which showcases the value of business meetings to the nation’s economy.

Successful Meetings wrote, “No one explains the hotel business side of the hospitality world to planners better than Dominguez.” In his role at MGM Resorts, “he has been an innovator in dealing with the wifi accessibility issue, and a leader in bringing wellness concepts into hotel rooms, all while leading his team to a record year of sales for group rooms in 2014.”
