MGM Resorts International has announced the promotion of Allison Smith Mitchell to vice president of regional human resources business partnerships. In her new role based in Biloxi, Mississippi, she will oversee regional HR operations while also providing strategic direction and leadership.
Smith Mitchell will partner with the HR Center of Excellence to establish short and long-term people strategies and goals for MGM’s regional properties, while also championing company culture and the employee value proposition.
“As a mission-driven leader with a successful track record of comprehensive human capital management in the Southeast region, I am enthusiastic about this new chapter and the expansion of my scope,” said Smith Mitchell. “I look forward to applying my capabilities and driving key HR results across the eight MGM Resorts International regional properties.”
Smith Mitchell most recently served as vice president of HR for Beau Rivage and Gold Strike Tunica. She has more than 27 years of HR experience within the gaming and hospitality industry, having spent 10 of those years with Caesars/Park Place & Harrah’s Entertainment in New Orleans before moving to Biloxi a year after Hurricane Katrina to re-open Beau Rivage in 2006.
