The 2020 MGS Entertainment Show, originally scheduled for November 17-19 in Macau, has been canceled due to lingering concerns about the global Covid-19 outbreak, organizers announced late last month.
“After an extensive communication among the industry, the rescheduling has been mutually decided by a vote among our members, exhibitors and partners based on the current industry status and business opportunities,” according to a statement on the cancelation from the Macau Gaming Equipment Manufacturers’ Association.
“We believe that our clients’ interests always come first and we shall provide our exhibitors and visitors with a safe and health exhibition environment, sufficient time for meticulous preparation and eventually a commercially viable trade show.”
Instead, the next edition of the MGS Entertainment Show and MGS Summit will be held November 16-18, 2021, at the same venue, Cotai Expo at the Venetian Macao.
MGS said it plans to launch “a variety of innovative events and services to explore business value and accelerate the recovery of the industry,” ahead of next year’s event.
Major trade shows including G2E Las Vegas, G2E Asia, ICE Asia, SiGMA Manila, the Phil-Asian Gaming Expo and ASEAN have all postponed their 2020 events until next year.
