Microgaming is now an early player in the new Colombian regulated online gaming market through a partnership with Colombian online gaming licenses Wplay.co.
Colombia began regulation of its market in 2016—the first South American countries to do so—and granted its first online gaming license to Aquila Global Group in 2017. The Medellin-based company will operate in the Colombian market under the Wplay.co brand, with the goal of signing up 1 million customers in the next three years, according to a press release from the company.
Wplay.co will offer a range of Microgaming’s games live through the Quickfire platform, including roulette and slots.
“Signing Wplay.co is a significant step for Quickfire as we look to make an impact in the Latin American market,” said Andrew Clucas, Director of Quickfire at Microgaming in a press release. “As the first operator to be granted a gaming license in Colombia, our games will be some of the first to go live in the market, which is undoubtedly a strategic advantage. We look forward to a long and successful relationship with Wplay.co as we both aim to expand our presence in the region.”
