“Better life” after U.S. bases
A luxury hotel and gaming facility, the Midori Hotel and Casino, has opened in the Philippines. The property, which broke ground in 2013, includes 111 rooms.
It was developed by BB International Leisure and Resort Development Corp., which is principally run by Taiwanese investors, according to the Asia Gaming Brief.
The resort’s website describes the Midori as “a perfect five-star luxury hotel in Central Luzon in the heart of Pampanga, Philippines.”
The ribbon cutting was attended by Philippine Senate President Aquilino L. Pimentel III and Mabalacat City Mayor Marino Morales, who said, “I feel good and I think we were right all along—there is indeed life after the American bases, but it’s a much better life.”
