Mississippi Casino Job Fair So Successful October Drive Cancelled

Due to the enthusiastic response, Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort in D'Iberville, Mississippi cancelled a second job fair to fill more than 1,000 positions. The $300 million property will feature a 60,000 square foot gaming floor with 1,350 slots, 45 table games and a poker room, plus a 14-story hotel and championship mini-golf.

Following an overwhelming response to its recent job fair, the Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort in D’Iberville, Mississippi canceled a second job fair set for October 14. The 0 million facility, expected to open by the end of the year on Biloxi’s Back Bay, needs to fill more than 1,000 jobs. Paul Terrell, director of human resources at the new resort, said, “I don’t see a problem. I think the talent pool is out there. With recent layoffs and closings of other casinos, I think we’ll have plenty to choose from.” Scarlet Pearl still is accepting applications online.

The property will offer a 60,000 square foot casino floor with 1,350 slots and video poker machines, 45 table games and a 10-table poker room, plus a 14-story hotel with more than 200 guestrooms, 56 luxury suites and 10 penthouse suites. A swimming pool, fitness center, retail, gift shop and two 18-hole mini-golf courses also will be on-site.
