Mississippi Choctaws To Add Table Games

Recently re-elected Mississippi Choctaw Chief Phyllis Anderson (l.) has big plans for the tribe's casino operations, including bringing table games to the Bok Homa Casino in Heidelberg, opening a bingo room at the Pearl River Resort in Philadelphia, starting a dealer training program and raising the minimum wage for non-tipped employees.

Mississippi Choctaw Chief Phyllis Anderson, recently re-elected to a second term, announced she wants to add table games at the Bok Homa Casino in Heidelberg, Mississippi, located about 82 miles from Choctaw headquarters in Philadelphia, where the tribe operates the Golden Moon Hotel and Casino and Silver Star Hotel and Casino as part of the Pearl River Resort.

Currently the Bok Homa Casino offers slot machines and other electronic gaming devices. Anderson said adding table games there will create 70 new jobs.

Anderson added she plans to open a new bingo room at Pearl River and create a dealer-training program. Also, she said she will raise the minimum wage for non-tipped employees at the resort.
