Sponsored by state Rep. Casey Eure, House Bill 606 was amended to create an 11-member Mobile-Online Sports Betting Task Force to study mobile sports wagering and make recommendations regarding oversight and regulation. A final report would be due by October 15.

Currently, legal sports wagering only can take place on-site at the state’s 23 retail and tribal casinos.

The task force would include the executive director of the Mississippi Gaming Commission, the commissioner of the Mississippi Department of Revenue, the executive director of the Mississippi Gaming and Hospitality Association and six members appointed by the House and Senate Gaming Committee chairs.
