Four months after opening its doors, Inspire Entertainment Resort, a Mohegan Gaming property in Incheon, South Korea, will throw a gala grand-opening party on Tuesday, March 5.
The property opened its hotel and other non-gaming facilities on November 30 and was approved for a gaming license in late January, after earning a five-star hotel rating from the Korea Tourism Association. The foreigners-only casino opened February 3.
South Korea currently has 16 foreigner-only casinos, and one that is open to locals, Kangwon Land. Inspire’s gaming license was the first to be issued since 2005.
The resort, located near Incheon International Airport, includes 1,275 hotel rooms, 11 restaurants and a 15,000-seat performance arena. The casino has 150 gaming tables, 390 slot machines and a two-story 160-seat ETG stadium.
The week-long kickoff festivities will include appearances by Grammy-winning band Maroon 5 and K-pop artists. Later in the month, the resort will host the international table tennis competition WTT Champions Incheon with 32 world-class players.
“It is a thrill to see Mohegan Inspire gear up for this grand opening celebration, a testament to the hard work and dedication that has brought us to this moment,” said Inspire President Chen Si. “This milestone brings an unparalleled resort experience to visitors of all backgrounds.”
Mohegan Gaming CEO Ray Pineault added, “We are on the brink of a historic moment with the grand opening of Inspire. This is not just a celebration of our newest offerings but a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. Hosting Maroon 5 and an array of world-class entertainment reflects our commitment to providing exceptional experiences. We’re ready to set a new benchmark in hospitality and entertainment, welcoming guests from around the globe to discover the magic of Inspire.”
