Mohegan Sun has announced a $15 million investment in their high-end amenities, including the construction of a new VIP lounge and upgrades to their golf course and deluxe hotel suites.
The 6,500 square-foot lounge catered to the casino’s club VIP members will fill a portion of the space that was previously filled by the Seasons Buffet restaurant before it shut down over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. Construction is already underway, with hopes to finish by late fall or early winter.
The Rockwell Group, the construction firm in charge of the project, is the same developer responsible for much of the casino’s interior.
General Manager Jeff Hamilton said that it was important for the company to invest in their high-end clientele, who are important to their business overall. Hamilton also said that the upgrade amenities give the casino a “competitive advantage,”
Additionally, upwards of $3 million will be allocated to renovating the casino’s deluxe Royal Suites, which are over 3,500 square feet apiece. Each suite comes complete with dining and butler services, two separate master bedrooms and even two jacuzzi tubs.
The Mohegan Sun Golf Club will also get a $1 million facility upgrade, to be phased out over the next three years. Upgrades include new groundskeeping equipment, as well as landscaping features and changes to the course design.
