Molly Bloom, entrepreneur, author and legendary organizer of high-stakes VIP poker games, will deliver a keynote at CasinoBeats Malta, to be held at the InterContinental Hotel, March 24-26. She will also host a poker tournament at the conference.
Bloom’s memoir, Molly’s Game, was the basis for an Oscar-nominated film starring Jessica Chastain. Bloom became famous in the poker world for coordinating A-list poker games attended by the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck and Tobey Maguire.
Eventually, after she moved her game from Los Angeles to New York, she wandered in the gray area, taking a rake, which is illegal. The FBI raided one of her games, and she was later arrested, but ultimately received just one year of probation and a $1,000 fine.
At the trade show, Bloom will host Molly’s Malta Game in association with OlyBet, an exclusive 100-seat poker invitational taking place at Casino Malta, the island’s biggest gaming venue.
