Monday Deadline for NY Mobile Sportsbook Bids

Monday, August 9 is the deadline for mobile sportsbooks and platform providers angling to break into the New York market.

The New York Gaming Commission will select a minimum of two platform providers and four mobile sports betting operators. Applicants that include a tribal partner will receive five bonus points in a 75-point scoring formula, but tribal participation is not mandated.

Selected bidders may give oral presentations starting September 1, and winning applicants must be chosen by December 6.

Even if state gaming commissioners pounce on the applications, fans won’t be able to bet on the NFL this fall or anytime this year, according to Legal Sports Report. However, Senator Joe Addabbo Jr., who pushed mobile betting in the Empire State, hopes the apps will be live by the Super Bowl next February.
