Most Macau Greyhounds Still Homeless

The Macau Canidrome racetrack has been closed for months, but 481 of 533 greyhounds are still being housed on-site, according to the South China Morning Post. The animals are either waiting to be adopted or have been adopted but must endure rigorous quarantine requirements.

The track was operated by the Macau (Yat Yuen) Canidrome Company, which is owned and controlled by billionaire lawmaker Angela Leong, who is also managing director of SJM Holdings. Leong has denied that any greyhounds were mistreated during their racing days.
