In Iowa, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino General Manager Todd Moyer submitted his resignation and announced he will leave at the end of August to begin a new role with Hard Rock International. Moyer joined the Sioux City casino in October 2013 and was instrumental in its development and opening in August 2014.
“It was only a matter of time until the rest of the country uncovered how special it is here in Siouxland, and I’m happy to see our community recognized on a national scale as an entertainment destination. This is a boon for our economy, our progress and our growth,” Moyer said at the opening.
Previously Moyer served as general manager at the Diamond Jo Casino in Dubuque, Iowa, and he also worked at casinos in Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Pittsburgh.
The Hard Rock offers a gaming floor with more than 883 slot machines and 28 table games, plus a boutique hotel, restaurants, gift shop and entertainment venues. It was named one of the 10 best casinos in the U.S. earlier this summer. The Hard Rock was developed by Sioux City Entertainment, a division of Las Vegas-based Warner Gaming Company, to replace the Argosy Sioux City riverboat casino.
