Asia’s Mobile Premier League (MPL), the continent’s largest esports and skill gaming platform, has launched an app in the U.S. with nine games that offer cash prizes.
Founded in 2018 in India, MPL has more than 81 million registered users across India and Indonesia. Investors include Sequoia Capital, Moore Strategic Ventures, SIG, Pegasus Tech Ventures, Founders Circle, Telstra, Composite Capital, MDI, Go-Ventures, RTP Global, Base Partners, among others. The company has raised $225.5 million to date, valuing it at $945 million.
MPL will introduce new games on a regular basis. The initial games feature Baseball Star, Block Puzzle, Bowling, Pool, 21 Puzzle, and others. Players can compete in various formats, including head-to-head matches or tournaments. In addition to free play, players can bet from 60 cents to $6.
