Multiple Operators launch online gaming in Buenos Aires

Online gaming has gone live in Buenos Aires, Argentina, after multiple operators were granted licenses several months ago. The country is regulating gaming state by state.

Among them, Codere Online, based in Spain, is offering sports betting and online casino games. Moshee Edree, managing director of Codere, commented, “Beginning operations in the city of Buenos Aires represents a fundamental milestone in our business plan.”

Codere Online was previously a Codere subsidiary but was spun off via a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) and opened on the Nasdaq several weeks ago.

Joining Codere Online is Bplay, a partnership of 888 and B-Gaming, owned by the Boldt Group, which operates two Argentine casinos.

Also launching is Gaming Innovation Group’s (GiG’s) Grupo Slots online casino and sportsbook. GiG CEO Richard Brown commented, “I am excited to have gone live in the city of Buenos Aires with a prominent brand like Grupo Slots.” He added, “Buenos Aires is a dynamic market, set to be one of the largest within Argentina with significant growth potential in the interactive space driven by regulation and growth of a digital online gaming penetration.”
